An invitation for a personal inauguration following the presidential one,
made anew for each administration,
to give space to process the prior election cycle, share hopes and fears about what’s ahead, and set intention for the next four years
TEMPORARY OCCUPANT (2021) took place on Inauguration Day and the days following at the Connelly Theater. As this was deep COVID times, it was an experience for only one person at a time.
TEMPORARY OCCUPANT (2025) was an individual and communal act. Held as alternate program on Presidents Day of that year at historic Judson Memorial Church, attendees had space to reflect privately and also share with all those assembled about what they were feeling, fearing, hoping for, and in need of in that moment.
