697 Productions makes queer, political theater in intimate, surprising spaces.

Portal Rose aka Jake Lasser is a theatre-maker who lives in Brooklyn. They have collaborated with Mabou Mines, Theater in Asylum, No Name Collective, and Stages on the Sound and made work at LaMaMa, HERE Arts Center, and Dixon Place.

Rebecca Friday is a writer and producer in Brooklyn. In 2021, she founded Wet Spot, a queer performance series that has appeared in her home and various venues around New York. She is currently an independent event producer and artist manager/booker and helps to manage the nonprofit, Bad Review Fund, which is dedicated to keeping risky art alive in NYC.

Rachel Gita Karp has directed political performances throughout New York as supported by The Drama League, Clubbed Thumb, Irondale, Mabou Mines, Ars Nova, Brooklyn Arts Council, New York Foundation for the Arts, LaGuardia Performing Arts Center, The Wild Project, The Brick, The Flea, and more. Regionally, her work has been produced through La Jolla Playhouse, Actors Theatre of Louisville, the Pennsylvania Center for Women and Politics, and Philly Fringe, and she has written and directed productions at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Chatham University, Columbia University, and Carnegie Mellon University. Her work has been exhibited internationally, broadcast on public television, and supported through dozens of residencies and fellowships across the US.
